Hotel Transylvania Movie Review                                         

  
     Hotel Transylvania is the latest animated movie with the voice talents of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, and Selena Gomez. Adam Sandler voices Count Dracula who is an overprotective father who builds a hotel to protect his daughter Mavis, voiced by Selena Gomez, and on her 118th birthday ,which I guess is a sweet sixteen for vampires.  Andy Samberg comes in but he is a human and humans aren't allowed in the hotel. Dracula is the only one who notices him and disguises him as a Frankenstein and ,of course, Mavis falls in love with him.
     I was looking foward to Hotel Translyvania when I saw the trailer until I saw this "Call Me Mavy" video which was the character Mavis singing a parody of Call Me Maybe and it really annoyed me. I have been wrong a lot because this movie was hilarious and awesome. I thought Dredd would be awful and it wasn't, I thought Total Recall would be good and it wasn't, now let's add this movie to the list.
     Adam Sandler was really good as Count Dracula but you need two or three minutes to get used to the silly voice. Selena Gomez was annoying. Andy Samberg was good as well. I think that the funniest people in this movie were David Spade who played the Invisible Man and Steve Buscemi who was a werewolf that had like twenty children. Kevin James was good as Frankenstein but the one monster that got on my nerves was CeLo Green who played the Mummy because I don't really like CeLo. There was a song at the end and when the Mummy started singing, it was soooooooo easily autotuned. Most of the humor doesn't make sense even though it is still hilarious but it makes sense since the director is Genndy Tartakovsky. The creator of The Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, and my personal favorite, Dexter's Laboratory.( All shows I watched on the good Cartoon Network when I was a younger fellow.)
     I have to say that this might be my favorite animated movie of 2012 so far because I had low expectations. From reviews that I heard, I knew that ParaNorman would be good so I had high expectations but I think for now they're tied. I will give this movie a 9/10 which is what I think I gave ParaNorman and Brave. Question of the review: Favorite movie monster? Mine is a tie between Dracula and the Wolfman. Dredd 3D (2012) Movie Review                                                                     

    Dredd is the latest remake and stars Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby. Judge Dredd was one of the one of the few movies that should have been remade because the writers of that movie should be fired and fans of the comics felt like it destroyed the comics. When I heard they were remaking it, I was excited until I saw the trailers. I was dreading (sorry) seeing this movie. This movie was incredible.
    The plot of Dredd is quite simple, which is that Judge Dredd and this rookie, Anderson, are investigating a crime when the 200 story building they are in gets locked down and the villian, Ma-Ma , sends almost all of her men after the judges. Karl Urban was fantastic as Judge Dredd and he was a lot better than Stallone was because Urban never took his helmet off while Stallone only had his on in  a third of his movie. Stallone had a better chin than Karl Urban but Urban felt the part. Olivia Thirlby was also pretty good as Anderson and her character was a psychic which I didn't think would work at all but it worked.  I can't believe I'm writing that I enjoyed Dredd 3D. If I showed myself this review in June when the first trailer was released, I wouldn't believe it. The person from Game of Thrones who played the villian was disgusting in a good way and was probably the best performance in this movie.
     Finally, let's get to the action and slow motion. The first action scene where Dredd is chasing these three guys down was the best action scene of the whole movie not only because it involved one of the best death scenes, but I  also like chase scenes. I am not kidding, Judge Dredd shoots some kind of flare into a guys mouth and his face burns into ashes and dies. That was pretty awesome. Also in the movie, thugs are passing around this drug that puts everything in slow-motion and in some sequences, it was beautiful. One of the clips released for this movie shows when Dredd and Anderson break into a room and shoot all these people on the drug. It was really beautiful and so was  a scene when someone gets thrown out a window and the shards of glass are sparkling. The 3D is also really cool because you see blood and bullets flying at you. I highly recommend seeing Dredd and I'll give it a 9/10. So I'd like to know, what's your favorite action movie of this year so far? First Look At the New Robocop!                                                                                                

 

        I honestly JUST finished watching the original Robocop and when I got online, I found a video in my YouTube supscription box and found out about it. The first thing that I think of when I see this armor is the Christopher Nolan Batman suit without any bats. It also looks like if someone broke into Tony Stark's tower and painted all of the Iron Man suits black and changed a few things up, then gave it to the people making this movie. I think I'm  the first to say this but doesn't it look like Judge Dredd but without the red? I don't know but they have similar helmets.
        At least it looks like Robocop can run in this movie because in the original, he walked and I highly doubt you can catch up to a speeding van with four armed criminals by walking. However, it does look like he's walking in the picture so there goes the only positive thing I could say about this. Am I going too deep into these few photos? Yes. When there are official photos with him striking a pose or a teaser trailer that has good lighting I will be here to talk about it. Maybe it will look better in motion. I'm looking foward to seeing how this movie turns out but it better have that guy who drove into the toxic waste and became all mutant and blew up. Anyway, what do think of this picture and if you've seen the original Robocop, what were your thoughts on it? Finding Nemo 3D Movie Review                                                                         

      

   Finding Nemo was one of Pixar's first movies and they are re-releasing it in 3D like Disney did with Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. I only saw the first thirty minutes of Finding Nemo in Spanish class because my teacher was out, but I really loved the first fifth of the movie. I didn't know that they were re-releasing it in 3D until maybe April because I saw the poster at my theater so I was really pumped for this movie. Now in case you don't know what the plot is, Albert Brooks voices a very over-protective father but one day, Nemo gets taken by a scuba diver and Albert Brooks teams up with Ellen DeGeneres to find Nemo.
    Now that I've seen Finding Nemo in 3D, I can say that it is awesome. All of the voice acting was great with these turtles being my favorite because they were a lot like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This movie was very funny also and reminded me of what Pixar was in their prime. These were the Toy Story, Monsters' Inc, and Incredibles years. I liked Brave but it is Cars 2 compared to the movies I mentioned. This was a great father-son bonding/relationship type of movie even though I saw it with my mom. This is probably in my top 20 movies or top 25 so without a doubt this gets 10/10. If you haven't seen Finding Nemo, see it because as of right now, it has made less money than Resident Evil 75.
      Also, the Toy Story Toons: Partysaurus Rex short at the beginning was incredible. I love how they're doing these shorts instead of a fourth movie because the third movie had a perfect ending. I like this new storyline with the Bonnie character. That also gets a 10/10. Now for this week, I am going to talk about the new Robocop suit on Wednesday at the latest and my Dredd review on Saturday. Then since I'm going to review some classic movies. I'll review Indiana Jones since the blu-rays are coming out, maybe Jaws, and Lord of the Rings in December for the Hobbit. So I'd like to know, what's your favorite animated movie? Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters Trailer Review          

   Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is an upcoming movie and another dark twist of a classic tale. I wonder if Hollywood would make a darker tone for the Three Little Pigs. Anyway, this trailer is down below in case you haven't seen it because I'm about to talk about it. In this trailer, we see that Hansel and Gretel pushed a Witch into a fire and started hunting witches for some reason. We really get the tone of what the movie will be like in this trailer and it looks dumb. I know it's supposed to be dumb, it's Hansel & Gretel hunting witches for heaven's sake. It just looks like another Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter except I don't think it's based off a book. Feel free to correct me in the comments or an email. Batman: Arkham City - Game Review                 

    For my first post, I wanted to review a video game so I thought Batman: Arkham City would be a good game to review. In Batman: Arkham City, Gotham has sectioned off a part of the city where all the criminals can't break out and do their thing. Then after an awesome intro, Bruce Wayne and some doctor are put into Arkham City and after you beat up a couple of Penguin's gang members, you become the Batman.

   The artwork, graphics and voices have all improved from the first game. Kevin Conroy has the perfect voice for Batman. Same with Mark Hamil, he IS the Joker and will always be when it comes to voice acting. Let's take a minute to talk about the fight moves. Silent Takedowns are very important because in one of the first levels, you have to go to the courthouse and save Catwoman from Two-Face and the first guy you beat up is this guard. The first time I played the game, I didn't use a silent takedown and I got shot once, then a bunch of henchmen started beating me with their fists and their bats and sticks. The second time I used stealth and lived that part of the level. Detective Mode is also really helpful because it scans criminals to see if they have weapons or not so you can attck them. I love this game so I'll give Batman Arkham City a perfect 10/10. Now I'd like to know, what's your favorite version of Batman? It could be a movie, novel, or the cartoons.
